We grew up somewhere privacy wasn’t really a thing, so we take yours seriously. This page explains what information expligkids.com collects, why, who it’s shared with, and what you can do about it. Questions go to info@expligkids.com.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to ship your merch, run the God Zone and answer your emails.
- We share it only with the services that help us do those things.
- We never sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information anytime.
Who we are
This site is run by the Ex-Pligkids Podcast. When this policy says “we,” “us” or “our,” that’s who we mean.
What we collect
When you buy merch, we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give it, and what you ordered. If you create a store account, we also keep your login details and order history.
When you pay, your card or PayPal details go straight to our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
When you use the God Zone, our private file share for the crew and guests, we collect:
- Your name, email address and the reason you gave when you asked for access
- Your login details once you’re approved
- The files you upload, their names, any notes you add, and when they were uploaded and downloaded
- A scrambled version of your IP address when you send an access request, used only to block spam and deleted within an hour
When you email us, we get whatever you choose to send, plus your email address.
Automatically, when you visit, our hosting and security services record standard technical details like your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This keeps the site running and protects it from attacks.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your orders, including replacements and refunds
- To approve and run God Zone accounts, and to share files with the crew
- To answer your messages
- To keep the site secure and working properly
- To meet legal and tax requirements, such as keeping order records
We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked to hear from us, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the site, and only what each one needs:
- Printful prints and ships merch orders, so it gets your name, shipping address and order details.
- WooPayments (run by WooCommerce, with payments processed by Stripe) and PayPal handle payments and fraud checks.
- Bluehost hosts the website and its data.
- Cloudflare speeds up and protects the site, and stores God Zone files.
- Google serves the fonts on our pages, which means your browser connects to Google when pages load.
- YouTube plays the episode videos embedded on our pages. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube may still collect information when you play a video.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
We never sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them only for things the site needs to work:
- Your shopping cart, so it remembers what you added
- Logging in, for store accounts and the God Zone
- Security, so Cloudflare can tell real visitors from bots
- Payments, where our payment providers use cookies to prevent fraud
Embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies when you play them. We don’t use advertising cookies of our own. If that ever changes, we’ll update this page first.
How long we keep it
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually several years
- Store accounts: until you ask us to delete yours
- God Zone accounts and files: until the account or file is deleted
- Emails: as long as we need them to help you, then we clear them out
- Spam-blocking records: about an hour
Keeping it safe
The whole site runs over a secure, encrypted connection. Payments are handled by providers built for it. God Zone files are stored privately and can only be downloaded through links that expire after a few hours. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we have about you
- Fix anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information, unless we have to keep it for legal or tax reasons
- Stop using your information for anything beyond what you’ve asked for
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Email info@expligkids.com to make a request. We may need to confirm it’s really you before we act, and we won’t treat you differently for asking.
Kids
Our show and this site are made for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
Our services are based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there.
Links to other sites
Our site links to places like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Their own privacy policies apply once you’re there.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top. Big changes will get a clear notice on the site.
